Chris Bax is both a passionate forager and a trained chef who has for many years provided expert guidance to those wishing to discover the free food that abounds in Yorkshire’s wonderful countryside. As well as leading groups of interested individuals to forage safely, Chris works with leading restaurants to help them make the most of foraged ingredients.
The diversity of Yorkshire’s ever changing landscape brings with it distinct patterns of flora and fauna, all of which give Chris a canvas second-to-none from which to work as he teaches responsible harvesting of wild foods to complement the farmed produce for which Yorkshire is similarly renowned.
Chris has an excellent reputation for finding the best seasonal wild food and always finds things of interest to Yorkshire foragers be they wild salads and edible greens, flowers, herbs and wild berries, hedgerow fruit and of course edible fungi. Equally at home on the foreshore, Chris also leads coastal foraging courses.
