Producers - Moorlands Farm Yorkshire Cyder
Farmer Rob Gibbons started making cider after a friend let him pick 200 kilos of apples he didn't have any use for. After a visit to the cider-making monks at Ampleforth Abbey for inspiration and advice, Rob made a press, bought a pulpmaster bucket to crush the apples, a few demi-johns and a cider making book. And then he was off... Moorlands Farm Cyder was launched on the market in March 2010 and in that first year Rob's Medium Sweet Cyder won the champion cider award at CAMRA's East Midlands and Yorkshire Cider Competition. Medium Dry Cyder and apple juice are now also produced. Rob's customers include the Michelin-starred Pipe and Glass Inn, and the award-winning Star @ Sancton.
